Something inspirational:

“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life.”

    1. Yes they are. I love this quote for those very reasons.

We should all aspire to the simple things in our lives. We just have to let go of all the other things that make our lives complicated.

  1. The simple life would do for me. All I need is the countryside, sunshine, growing my own fruit and vegetables, baking my own bread, a bicycle and good friends.

Can't see that happening any time soon, so until then I guess I will just have to put up with all the trappings of modern day life that we all do.

    1. The simple life comes from our own thoughts, our own clutter. Cut back on the need to have too many things in your life and you'll begin to live the simple life.

We don't always have to move to have the simple life, it's how we perceive our lives that make our life simple.

  2. I think that life was more simple when we were kids, today will all the technology it is fast paced.

Sometimes I wish we could go back to the simple life, no cell phones and pressing issues to contend with. To return to our youth, at least we have some fond memories.

    1. You're right Maria. I agree that with today's technology there is no simple life, we've made our lives a lot more complicated than it has to be.

It is really up to us how we life our lives without all the trappings. We just have to say NO.

  3. A while ago I changed my mobile phone number as clients were ringing me at weekends so now only family have access to me.

In time clients have got used to that and one even said how impressed he was that I had 'decluttered' my life. I wouldn't go that far, but it was a start.

    1. I agree it's a start. Less use of your mobile phone (cell phone). As with everything in our lives, we have to make a start somewhere. Good for you.

  4. I live in the country so when the weather gets nicer I should go out and appreciate nature. I did it as a kid but now I should rediscover it again as an adult.

I guess I am lucky not to live in the city. I would not want to. Too much traffic and people.

    1. Having lived in the city all of my life, I would love now to live in the country. I think you are lucky Randy.

Perhaps it's time now to take the plunge. You could always wrap up!!

  5. Yes,the simple things are the most valuable!

It has taken me a very long time to learn how precious these things are. They call it 'One day at a time' which can be the hardest thing to do on some days.

Hope things are getting simpler for you.

    1. Thanks Randy. You're absolutely right, the simple things are the most valuable. I hope you're doing okay. Yes things are getting simpler.
