I believe it's important for us to learn to value other people’s opinions, even when their opinions differ from our own. Giving value to others, helps us emotionally grow.
It’s rare for people to have the same perceptions and agree on most topics. In truth, we're all different, we’re never going to think or feel the same way about things.
Disagreeing isn’t where the problem lies though. The problems are when we fail to give value to another person’s opinion and then spend the rest of our time disagreeing.
I agree with you on this. We must take into consideration others' feelings and thoughts to have a reasonable relationship with them.
We can't be right all the time.
You're absolutely right in what you say. It also makes for happier, healthier and stress- free relationships. Thanks Lisa.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think the problems arise when one person values their opinion more than others, then egos get in the way.
Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but unfortunately ego can get in the way of opinions. No one's opinion is more important than another person's opinion.
They all warrant the same priority and attention.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we all have different views of life, we must respect others and learn to be equal.
Hi Calum and welcome to the site. You're right we are entitled to own opinions and we all have different views on life.
The issue is boundaries and learning just to be a support. If someone asks for an opinion and it's different that is okay. It starts with respecting people's boundaries and understanding where and if our opinions may be helpful.
Not everyone is happy to hear what we have to say depending on where they are mentally and emotionally.
I agree that everyone is entitled to there own opinion and everyone's opinion should be heard.
Thanks Jack. Yes of course, it's what makes the world function. It gets a little more difficult when someone tries to control the situation around what's said instead of using the situation to mediate.
It's usually how the opinion is offered and received that changes the situation and the status quo. No one should be forthright with their opinions, it should be a support and suggestion.
Every one is entitled to there own opinion, that's how we learn.
Thanks Robert and welcome to the site. Yes, we can learn from other people's opinion, particularly if our opinions differ from theirs and we accept what they say.
The difficulty we may have is where opinions differ, opinions that go against the universal rules, or against our own principled beliefs.
Respectfully, also not everyone has our back or will give their opinion in our best interest. It depends on agenda mostly.
Working together as a team and listening to other peoples opinions makes us better as a team and helps us build better.
I feel not listening to team members makes them feel like there opinion doesn't matter, but taking there opinion on board and listening to them, helps them feel part of the team and valued.
Thanks David. You're absolutely correct. It is a two-way street.
It is important for both sides to listen and then respond in a supportive and helpful way that doesn't undermine what the other person has to say.
Everyone has their own opinions and as individuals we need to consider that. Everyone's opinions should be heard and evaluated as equals.
Yes of course. The universe sees us as all as equal, but people in the world do not see themselves as equal.
All opinions are valid and everyone should be allowed to express their opinion, for others to listen and vice versa.
Where someone sees themselves as self-righteous, boundaries can be crossed. No one's opinion is more valid, it's just different that's all.
I absolutely agree with Ilana's answers. We are all different and have different opinions and takes on doing things. However we all should be heard in order to find consensus.
Thanks Paulina! You're right. I would go one step further to say, it is important to find consensus.
In a world that is already struggling, it's something we all need. Without a middle ground or consensus, we can never be in agreement and without being in agreement, we can never live in peace.
Without consensus there will be discord and I think we all know what comes next.
I truly believe that opinions do matter, however we must respect and value other’s beliefs.
Hi Candan and welcome to the site and thanks for your response.
Yes, opinions do matter and we should respect other people's beliefs, but not everyone will feel the need to value other people's beliefs, particularly if they don't agree with them.
Whatever our beliefs, or other people's beliefs, it is important to come together. We don't have to agree, but we should be supportive.
Life is unpredictable sometimes. We can never know when we might need that support back.
I believe all suggestions and opinions should be heard and taken in to consideration, most opinions are useful and beneficial many ways to compromise as well.
Hi Gabrielle and welcome to the site. Yes, all suggestions and opinions should be heard and taken into consideration.
Just imagine how much support each of us would have if what we said was taken into consideration instead of being dismissed, because it's not what someone else thinks will fit, or because they don't agree.
I do think compromise and mediation is something we should all think about. Suggestions help us to change what is, to what can be and that's always beneficial.
Other people's suggestions can help us move on, with a new way think also.
