My writing gives me a reason to motivate after losing my twin. There is a lot on the wide-world web that confirms losing a twin isn’t like losing a sibling, it runs deeper. It very much feels like that.

Feeling my twin's absence

I am feeling my twin’s absence. Talking about the pandemic, she said the pandemic broke her, she forgot to tap into 'her.' She was also struggling to keep the momentum going and I resonate and reconcile for a short while. I know she is going to be okay, but I need to be okay also.

The 'Brexit' rot

The rot of what we've all had to deal with, set in 6 years ago, when the UK 'got Brexit done' and that changed attitudes and lifestyle. It was 3 years ago that the world pandemic struck, and it changed world attitudes further and lifestyle again. The pandemic blighted both of our lives, along with different groups of society, who continue to struggle to get into their lives.

The vulnerable in Society

For the vulnerable their lives have irrevocably changed, with their voices now drowned out. With lifting restrictions that weren’t taken with the vulnerable in mind, it means we're left with a less than adequate arrangement. Instead, we are more confined and solitary, while everyone else continues to go about their lives.

Where you can still catch and spread the virus, people are brushing it off as a cold, without thinking about their longer-term health. We shouldn't forget the science or ignore the misinformation.

Social media has got it covered

Social media continues to cover the Covid-facts with parents still struggling to find their voice and their children struggling to stay well because without mitigations in place, schools continue to be breeding grounds for the virus and the vaccines don't protect.

All that's happened is that society has even more opinions. The world has become divided and divisive and in many cases it has divided opinions and family. What is it going to take for people to come together to support, without offering their opinions, because the opinions don’t help? Opinions merely create divisions in an already divisive world.

  1. Here in the UK, we do seem to be in the doldrums, with a cost of living crisis, with public services on their knees and a government in denial, only concerned about staying in power.

I can't remember any times like this before.

    1. Thanks and I agree. I find it difficult to comprehend that any government would behave in this way.

They work for us, and yet we are at the mercy of the decisions they make that are not in our best interest.

I am usually an upbeat person, always seeing the positive in things, but even I am beginning to struggle with what is happening, around that decisions that have been made in the pandemic.

      Just no words...
